New members for BPEX board
Beef and pork levy board BPEX has announced it is to add two new members to its board to increase the number to 11.
Bob Howe and Bill Thurston have been accepted on to the board after applying to a published advertisement.
Howe was a member of the BPEX board before its reorganisation last year and is managing director of Bowes of Norfolk. Thurston is currently managing director of Vion's pig business unit and has held a number of senior roles in the baking industry.
BPEX chief executive Mick Sloyan said: "I am delighted to welcome them both to the board. They have extensive experience, which will be of great benefit to BPEX and to the development and delivery of its plans to assist individual businesses in the English supply chain."
The BPEX board now comprises six producers, four processors and one independent member.
