Peter’s Pies teams up with children’s charity
Foodservice pie manufacturer Peter’s Pies has teamed with children’s hospital charity Noah’s Ark Appeal to help raise funds for the Chilren’s Hospital for Wales through the sale of its new range of pies.
From mid-November, a donation will be made from the sale of every steak, steak and kidney, minced beef and onion, chicken and mushroom, and meat and potato pies. The products will all feature the Noah’s Ark Appeal logo.
Neil Court Johnston, director of Peter’s Food Service, said: “We are passionate supporters of the Children’s Hospital for Wales and have worked closely with everyone at the Noah’s Ark Appeal to find the best possible way to help build awareness and generate significant funds over the next three years. We’re sure that the on-pack promotion will do just that.
“We hope the combination of a bigger, tastier pie and this very worthy cause will appeal to consumers and help us continue to raise valuable funds for this vital charity.”
Welsh singing legend Dame Shirley Bassey, who is patron of the charity, has given her blessing to the project. She said: “I am delighted that Peter’s – a local company – is becoming our charity partner. The support of Peter’s will help the Noah’s Ark Appeal to raise significant money for the Children’s Hospital for Wales, specifically for children needing high-dependency or intensive care.”
Peter’s Food Service is based in south Wales and supplies pies, pasties, slices and sausage rolls to pubs, sports stadia, fast food outlets, fish bars restaurants, cafés, independent retailers, schools, hospitals and hotels. Earlier this year it extended its ‘pies for pubs’ campaign by teaming up with brewer and national pub operator Greene King to provide fresh hot pies to non-food selling pubs.
