Fields of Anlaby is Butcher's Shop of the Year 2009
Fields of Anlaby beat off tough competition to take home the top honour at the 2009 Butcher's Shop of the Year awards. They were crowned overall winner after coming out top in the Midlands and East of England category for the second year running.
Brian Fields said: "I'm chuffed to bits. Totally delighted. I'm not into football, but it feels as if I've won the World Cup. He added: "This makes it all worthwhile, which means a lot to me and my staff. Without my team I would not be able to do it on my own."
The Butcher's Shop of the Year awards are renowned as the premier awards for the UK butchery sector. They recognise excellence in craft butchery and winners enter an exclusive group representing the crème de la crème of British butchery.
The 2009 awards were presented during a glittering ceremony at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in London, where guests enjoyed a lavish three-course meal and entertainment from rubgy legend Gareth Chilcott.
