South Downs suppliers serve up samples
Hospitality and retail businesses keen to source local food and drink from the South Downs area are being invited to a Meet the Producer day in Petersfield.
About 25 of the region’s food and drink producers will be serving up samples, including meat companies O’Hagan’s Sausages and Rother Valley Organics.
The event has been organised by Hampshire Fare with A Taste of Sussex, both of which offer business support and promotional services.
Tim Brock, Hampshire Fare manager, said: “Local food is very much in the public eye and has become increasingly important in the fight against climate change. By stocking and using local produce, your business not only helps to keep the rural economy strong, it helps you attract more customers and keeps food miles to a minimum.”
