NI meat firm splashes out on cows
Farmview Meats owner Jonathan McDowell shows customers Grace and Sharon McKenna the type of high-quality meat they can expect after forking out for two prize-winning cows.
The Castlereagh shop successfully bid for both the Supreme Beef Champion and the Housewife’s Choice Champion at the Allams Christmas Fatstock Sale in Northern Ireland.
Cormac McKervey, agricultural manager of show sponsor Ulster Bank, said: “As top bidder for the two best beef animals in the province, Farmview Meats clearly demonstrated its continued passion to source local high-quality beef and to supply its customers with the very best meat available.”
Housewife’s Choice Champion, produced by John and Paul Rainey, fetched £4,000, while Supreme Champion, produced by Gerald Law, fetched £3,800.
