Independent retail and catering butchers can now select two new quality-assured, premium beef and lamb ranges from meat distributor Tican Chilled.

Independent retail and catering butchers can now select two new quality-assured, premium beef and lamb ranges from meat distributor Tican Chilled, working in partnership with Cornish processor Jaspers.

Produced to exacting standards, South West Specially Selected Beef comes from naturally grazed, traditionally finished suckler herds reared in the Devon and Cornwall countryside. South West Specially Selected Lamb is sourced from producers using traditional farming methods, where the lambs are left to graze naturally on the lush, green pastures of the south west, providing customers with a uniquely flavoured lamb.

The beef and lamb are carefully handled to guarantee quality and consistency at every stage of processing. Maturation takes place under controlled temperatures before the product is prepared by Jaspers' highly skilled butchery staff to the individual specifications required by the customer.

Jason Wilkie, trading director for Tican Chilled, said: "The procurement team has been working hard to identify and source the very best livestock from Farm Assured English farms in the south west.

"Through our South West Specially Selected Beef and Lamb brands we are able to offer customers the guaranteed provenance and traceability that they are looking for. Additionally, the brands meet the requirements of the EBLEX Quality Standard scheme so our customers can be further assured of our commitment to providing consistent quality beef and lamb."

The EBLEX Quality Standard Mark appears on all packaging and marketing material to confirm that the product is fully assured and meets the high standards set by the scheme.

Butchers who stock the new brands will receive a framed certificate, posters and display barkers to promote the beef and lamb in-store.
