The vans are operated on a six-days-a-week basis to complement its existing fleet and deliver an extensive range of selectively sourced fresh meat, poultry and game to customers across most of the UK.

Nigel Frederick's Andy Esson said: "We had been hiring fridge vans from Petit Forestier on a rental basis for some time and, when we decided to take some on a longer-term basis, we asked them to tender for the contract.

"Their price was competitive and we knew that the service was good, so it was logical to move forward with them. The fact that they are well-reputed specialists in refrigerated vehicle hire gives us peace of mind."

The 3.5t Mercedes 311 medium wheel-based vans have been specified with Carrier Aries 200 refrigeration systems for Nigel Frederick's totally chilled distribution application.
To facilitate offloading at the point of delivery, all the vans have been fitted with sliding side doors on the near side, and the vehicles have Euroscan printers to ensure accurate temperature recording.
