Yorkshire Dales Meat takes business award

 - Published:  01 November, 2009

Catering butcher Yorkshire Dales Meat has taken home the Producer of the Year title at the International Business Forum awards dinner held in Scarborough.

The Bedale-based firm beat several companies nominated to scoop the prize, sponsored by Deliciously Yorkshire, and the company has also been nominated for a further two categories in the forthcoming Deliciously Yorkshire Best Regional food and drink awards. MD Stephen Knox said: "We are all delighted with the nominations and we are hoping we can do as well as last year and come away as winner of one of the categories."

Yorkshire Dales Meat hopes to win the Prepared Meat category with its Pork and Caramelised Red Onion Sausage or Mrs K's Golden Sultana Black Pudding and has had its Aberdeen Angus Rib-Eye Steak and Sirloin Steak nominated for the Fresh Meat award.

The company also supplied the steaks eaten at the awards dinner in Scarborough last month, which is just one of a number of Yorkshire Dales Meat's products that are supplied as standard to all its customers, from farm shops to five-star hotels.
