Saving Walter Smith
Accountants and business adviser PKF has announced that 200 jobs at Midlands butchery chain Walter Smith have been saved, following a restructure by the administrator.
The business, with headquarters in Birmingham, has 20 stores in total and went into administration this year. A restructure by administrator Matthew Gibson and Brian Hamblin, from PKF's Manchester and Birmingham offices respectively, has meant that jobs have now been saved at the firm.
A PKF statement said: "The trade and assets were purchased from the administrators by the existing directors and management team. The restructuring has secured all 200 jobs. All 20 stores will remain open, allowing continued supply and custom."
