Firms team up for much cooler mix
Cryogenic company Air Products has teamed up with mixer and mixer-grinder specialist Weiler to develop fully integrated food mixing, grinding and cooling equipment.
The new offering from Air Products combines the company's Freshline Liquid Nitrogen Injection Solution (LIN-IS) with Weiler's mixer and mixer-grinder technologies. This is said to provide benefits across a wide range of food processing applications.
"The combined offering of Air Products' Freshline LIN-IS and Weiler's mixer-grinder technology can improve quality and achieve valuable cost-savings. Weiler's technology provides efficient mixing, while LIN-IS affords optimum control of the chilling," said Air Products' food business development manager Uwe Rosenbaum.
The combined technologies are suited to red meat applications, where products can be quickly blended into a homogenous mix while being cooled with the LIN-IS's innovative cryogenic technology.
Both the Freshline LIN-IS and Weiler's mixer-grinders are claimed to be designed to the latest hygienic standards and can be connected to a CIP (clean in place) system. Operation, cleaning and maintenance are simplified through full software integration, said Air Products.
