Young consultant recognised for efforts
The driving force behind an environmentally friendly beef farming scheme has been recognised for his work by being named as Young Consultant of the Year.
Rick Sanderson, 33, who owns Gate to Plate Solutions, has been awarded the prize by the British Institute of Agricultural Consultants (BIAC) and Lloyds TSB because of “his hard work and dedication to British Agriculture”.
BIAC chief executive Anthony Hyde said: “The factors that marked Rick out in a high-quality final were his entrepreneurial skills, his quality research, his outstanding use of IT, his passion and energy for consultancy and his determination to make a difference for his clients.”
With his agriculture and retail experience, Sanderson has been able to help rural businesses improve their prospects through market research, grants, marketing and branding.
