Manners finds new weigh

When high pressures were put on the manual packing process, R Manners & Sons installed an Ishida CC CCW-NZ-108 FFW, which has brought a number of important benefits such as excellent accuracy, said the company. This means product giveaway has been all but eliminated, while production throughput has increased tenfold. As a result, employee numbers on the packing line have been reduced, allowing staff to be redeployed more effectively elsewhere.

The FFW forms part of a dedicated packaging line devised by Ishida, with products fed by a conveyor to the top of the weigher and then transferred by a second conveyor to a full stainless steel VFB 4000 GIC

VFFS bagmaker, which incorporates gas flushing to maximise the shelf-life and appearance of the meat.
The bags are then quality checked in a combined Ishida DACS checkweigher and metal detector before being transferred to the despatch and delivery area.
