Pies to make some noise
Pukka Pies will be banging the drum for England at next year’s football World Cup finals in South Africa.
The Leicestershire-based company is renewing its sponsorship of the official England Supporters Band, which has become a regular fixture at England’s games over the past 10 years. The drums, trumpets and euphoniums band regularly blasts out tunes from the terraces during games and, last year, Pukka Pies flew the group to the Beijing Olympics to support the British hockey team.
“The Pukka Pies England Band has become synonymous with England internationals over the past few years and has provided invaluable support to the England team,” said Tim Storer, co-managing director of Pukka. “They are part of the fabric of English internationals and put a smile on people’s faces.”
Band leader John Hemmingham said: “The partnership with the company has been a fantastic success and we’re going to do our bit to help Fabio Capello bring the World Cup back to England.”
