Spoiltpig aims for streaky success
A new range of branded bacon is being launched by Denhay Farms in a bid to revitalise the market for streaky bacon. The company said its Spoiltpig streaky bacon, which is produced from pork reared to RSPCA Freedom Food standards, is aiming to remind consumers of the taste of streaky.
George Streatfeild from Spoiltpig said: “We have launched spoiltpig streaky to provide wonderfully tasty British bacon that has been outdoor-reared and dry-cured using simple, traditional methods. We believe spoiltpig streaky will create a renaissance in streaky bacon, as people remember how good this cut of bacon can taste.”
Spoiltpig streaky bacon is dry-cured by hand, using sea salt, before being allowed to mature slowly to develop its full flavour. Denhay’s knowledge and skill in producing bacon has resulted in the company winning awards each year – a total of over 47 medals since 2000, of which 27 were Gold – from the country’s top food award schemes.
Spoiltpig streaky bacon is available in Morrisons at a retail price of £2.49.
