AgriLIVE gathers pace
AgriLIVE Smithfield is teaming up with key partners for the meat industry’s new food, technology and business event.
Lloyds TSB Agriculture, AMC and the Bank of Scotland are sponsoring the Business Advice Centre, while Waitrose, Dovecote Park and Dalehead Foods will sponsor the Quality Meat Production area.
“This area will offer a series of interactive tools directed at helping producers understand the retail market specifications required for beef and lamb,” said Duncan Sinclair, Waitrose agricultural manager.
“While we meet with our producers regularly throughout the year at various events, AgriLIVE will provide us with another opportunity to meet up with our producers to share information.”
Igenity will sponsor a demonstration class, inviting entries using a range of different cattle and gene technology to place them in order of preference for specific traits. Testing will be done before the event, while judging will take place at AgriLIVE.
Merial Animal Health is sponsoring the Supreme Champion. Merial director Graham Davenport said: “Beef production has always been a cornerstone of UK farming and the Merial Supreme Champion recognises the great skill and dedication of British farmers who are among the most professional meat producers in the world.”
ABP is also a key event partner, sponsoring the Meat Industry Dinner as well as the Young Producers Breakfast – an event aimed at bringing young producers together for a meeting and lively debate.
Co-organised by the Royal Agricultural Society of England and the Royal Smithfield Club, the free event will be held at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire, from 11-12 December.
