New awards: chance for processors to shine

The meat industry will be given the opportunity to shine with the launch of MTJ’s new Meat & Poultry Processing Awards.

Aiming to reward excellence and best practice across the processing sector, entry forms for the awards are now available for businesses to make their bid for success.

Processing plants across the red meat and poultry sector are in with a chance of taking home one of our prestigious new awards, but you have got to be in it to win it. The awards are for: Business of the Year, Plant Manager of the Year, Young Processor of the Year, Environmental Initiative of the Year, Supply Chain Initiative of the Year and Export Initiative of the Year.

Entry forms are now available to download from www.meatinfo.co.uk, or by contacting Emma Hooper on 01293 610431.

The awards will take place on 22 March 2010 at the National Motorcycle Museum near Birmingham.
Bizerba has now joined the list of companies sponsoring the event, which include Applied Principles, the International Agri-Technology Centre and the Meat Training Council. The event is also being supported by the British Meat Processors Association, the Scottish Association of Meat Wholesalers, the Association of Independent Meat Suppliers and the British Poultry Council.
