BDCI delays AGM date
The Butchers' & Drovers' Charitable Institution (BDCI) has confirmed that its 2008 Annual General Meeting will now be moved back to its traditional June timing.
The Butchers' & Drovers' Charitable Institution (BDCI) has confirmed that its 2008 AGM will now be moved back to its traditional June timing.
A date of 31 March had recently been proposed, but the organisation wants to 'bed' in new administrative arrangements recently announced over the next four months, prior to the AGM, so its general purposes committee voted to change back the date to 18 June, allowing more time.
The chairman of BDCI Susan White MBE said: "We have not sorted a venue out yet and that will be decided soon, but we wanted to announce the date as soon as possible, to avoid confusion".
The BDCI has recently appointed Kingston Smith to undertake its administration and to assist with its governance.
The next major event in the BDCI calendar is a lunch to honour outgoing festival chairman Dennis Clark of Towers Thompson, which will take place at Butchers' Hall, London on 31 March.
Friends of the charity and from the meat industry are welcome to attend, and tickets can be applied for by contacting Harriet Erskine at the Worshipful Company of Butchers on 0207 6004106.
