Relishing the autumn trade

 - Published:  04 September, 2009

Last month, Ormskirk butcher Mark Shepherd wrote that the introduction of marinades, jellies and sauces was one of the biggest changes he has witnessed in the trade.

One extra that butchers can offer to customers this autumn is this Damson Jelly from Tracklements. Described as bursting with fresh English damsons and a strong, fruity taste, the Damson Jelly is said to go perfectly with fowl or game and even add sweetness to roast pork.

Tracklements said it can also be added to gravies, or can be paired with hot chicken dishes to make a superb autumnal supper. The Damson Jelly is available through Tracklements' website. The company has also recently launched a Gooseberry Relish.
