Asda offers Wagyu

Asda has announced it is to offer Wagyu beef – at affordable prices. The beef, which is generally sold at around £150 a kg, will be on offer at a third of the price, the retailer claimed, with an 8oz steak on sale for around £12.

However, it maybe some time before the beef hits the shelves, with Asda only just beginning to work with its suppliers to develop British herds for the meat.

 

It is aiming to have the product on sale by the end of 2010 or early 2011.
