The big clean-up
A new portable sink for washing utensils, food preparation and cleaning hands has been launched onto the market.
The portable Big Sink from Teal features a deep bowl with a choice of automatic hot or cold water washes, said to provide an instant ablution solution for a wide range of catering applications. It can also be used for outdoor events, such as barbecues, as it requires no fixed plumbing or drainage.
Operating the Big Sink requires the user to press down on a nudge button by foot to control the water flow from a low-pressure spray head, which swivels for a maximum coverage.
The sink is completely portable and free-standing and is operational as soon as it is plugged into a 13-amp socket. Teal's Big Sink can be placed on an existing work surface or table or stood on its own purpose-built tubular frame, which folds flat.
The sink is moulded in acrylic-capped high impact ABS, and Teal said the unit is easy to move and pack, with two separate 25-litre containers for fresh and waste water, said to be enough for up to 125 hot washes per filling.
