Championship turn for top sausages

Sausage champions across the UK are in with a chance of taking the ultimate sausage accolade - Champion of Champions. The MTJ-organised event takes award-winning sausages from across the UK and pitches them head-to-head to decide the UK's overall best sausage.

Ed Bedington, editor of MTJ, said: "Champion of Champions has been running for quite some time now and is one of our most popular events. How many other competitions see such a high standard of entries - all of our competitors are at the top of their game and it's a real challenge for our judges to pick out the best champion sausage from so many other champions."

This year's competition will again be held at Butchers' Hall in London on 26 October, and will see butchers from across the UK compete for the title. Bedington added: "Anyone who has won an overall award for their sausage is now eligible for Champion of Champions, so I would urge you to get in touch with us."

Past winners have been able to use their success to significantly increase their sausage sales, as well as generate some good PR for their business.
