Roberts to leave BMPA

 - Published:  13 July, 2009

Stuart Roberts is to step down as director of the British Meat Processors Association to take up a role with ABP. The BMPA management council announced it accepted his resignation and Roberts would be leaving later this summer.

Mark Adams, president of the BMPA, said: “It is a disappointment that Stuart will be leaving the BMPA, but he has accepted an outstanding opportunity with a member organisation.

“I wish him all the best for the future. Stuart has made a valuable contribution to the organisation and the wider industry and we look forward to continuing to work with him.”

Roberts said: “It has been an enormous pleasure heading up the BMPA Secretariat for the past two years and there is more than a touch of sadness at moving on.

“However, I am confident that the strong BMPA team will continue to make a valuable contribution to the entire meat industry and provide high-quality services for all members.”

“I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the BMPA Officeholders, Committees and Members and will continue to give the organisation every support I can during my future career.”

A search for a successor has now commenced.
