Gentlemen, start your engines
Are you the meat industry's answer to Jenson Button? The race is on for the inaugural BDCI Karting competition, in a bid to boost funds for the industry’s leading charity.
The event, which takes place next Friday, 10 July, is still open for teams to enter, and so far has 19 teams from across industry taking part.
The brainchild of this year’s festival chairman and motorsport enthusiast Bernard Hoggarth, the competition takes place at Daytona’s International Karting Circuit, Milton Keynes, one of the UK’s best karting tracks.
The competition is an endurance race, taking place over three hours with four drivers per team, driving karts capable of speeds of up to 70mph.
Cost of entry to the event is £1,200 per team, or £300 per driver. Those wishing to take part should contact Simon Duncan on 01482 848180 by this Friday, 3 July.
