ABP speeds up producer payments
|
Anglo Beef Processors (ABP) has announced that it will now pay producers on the day that their cattle are weighed at the abattoir.
The processor has recently upgraded its IT system, which will ensure that producers get paid as soon as their cattle are processed.
“Our policy has always been one of rapid payment, but this systems upgrade will ensure that producers can now get a cheque release for their cattle on the day of weighing and grading,” said and ABP spokesperson.
“By upgrading our IT systems, we can also offer further benefits to our producers through improved communication channels for the performance data of all their cattle.”
Producers, who already get an email detailing the weights and grades of their cattle, will be able to access a new website featuring a live archive of data relating to the cattle they have supplied over the past five years. This will enable them to compare different batches of cattle and identify long term trends.
“All producers will be able to access these facilities are no cost, helping them improve their farming systems, and providing a basis for greater transfer of information throughout the supply chain,” the spokesperson added.
