Nominations now welcome for David Black Award

 - Published:  18 June, 2009

Entries to a prestigious award are now open for a person who is deemed to have made a substantial and lasting contribution to the British pig industry.

The David Black Award was launched in 1960 and organiser BPEX is now taking nominations for the top industry prize.

BPEX director Mick Sloyan said: “The pig industry can boast a wealth of talent, with many whose efforts are above and beyond the call of duty.

“But many of them don’t believe they are deserving of any special mention – they are just doing what needs to be done.

“It is those individuals we are seeking to be nominated for the David Black Award, to let them know the whole industry acknowledges and appreciates the work they have put in.”

The winner will be announced at an industry breakfast in London in the autumn.

Nomination forms for the award can be found at www.bpex.org.uk or by calling 01908 844368.
