Burger success for Yorkshire producer
A Yorkshire-based catering butcher is celebrating landing a new deal to supply a major supermarket chain. Yorkshire Dales Meat will supply Asda with its handmade premium beef burgers. The deal builds on the companies previous retailer success, having already signed a deal with Morrisons for its burgers and sausages.
Stephen Knox, founder of the business, said: “We have developed the business over the last five years from attending a single farmers market with frozen meat to building our own state of the art cutting plant.
“We started off in 2004 with a walk in fridge and some chest freezers selling beef reared on our farm and butchered locally. We now have a fantastic 9,000 square foot facility doing all the butchery ourselves supplying some of the most prestigious hotels and restaurants throughout Yorkshire.
“All the beef, pork and lamb are sourced from Yorkshire or one of our farms”. The company prides itself on 100% Yorkshire beef, the only thing for those delicious Yorkshire puddings.“
The business recently won a deliciously Yorkshire Regional Food Group award in the prepared meat category with its Heavenly Honey Swaledale Lamb Sausage. The sausage is produced using organic Swaledale lamb combined with sticky Yorkshire honey, rosemary and garlic.
The premium handmade beef burgers will be available in all Yorkshire Asda stores ready for the BBQ season.
