Andrew Jones recovers pie production

Supervisor David Cole was killed and the premises of Andrew Jones badly damaged following the explosion over Easter. Six other staff members were injured.

But just five days later management were able to re-start production at a nearby premises. Now, sales manager Graham Easby has revealed that two other production units have been opened up and that production levels are beginning to return to normal.

“It’s a significant milestone,” he commented. “All the staff are truly amazed that they are back in production to this level in such a short space of time."

There are now plans to increase production further Mr Easby said.

The award-winning company, part of A R Jones Butchers, supplies pies to butchers and farm shops throughout the UK.

The cause of the explosion is still being investigated by the Health and Safety Executive.
