Making safety a point
A knife which protects users when cutting food packaging material has been launched. The GR8 Pro safety knife from Moving Edge is said to reduce risks compared to an open-bladed knife. It can be used for most food-related packaging, including cutting cardboard, shrink-wrap and plastic strapping.
The steel body of the knife encased in the food-safe handle has been ergonomically designed for comfort, said Moving Edge, and the patented 'moving action' blade, which moves automatically on contact, slices rather than cuts, lasting up to four times longer than a conventional blade.
The blade is enclosed, exposing just a finger-safe gap designed to help eliminate cut-related accidents without compromising on the cut performance. The design is also said to help to prevent damage to packaged items, which can have major cost-saving implications when it comes to protecting stock.
Virtually indestructible, claimed Moving Edge, the GR8 Pro comes with a lifetime guarantee. Moving Edge also supplies a full range of optional accessorie, such as Sharps disposal bins, which come in a variety of sizes.
