For a great summer treat, try Pea and Spinach Soup with Fresh Herbs from firm The Yorkshire Provender, made from local ingredients.
This soup uses fresh baby-leaf spinach and fresh herbs grown near to the company's factory during the summer months. The result is said to be a classic combination with the intensity that only fresh herbs such parsley, mint and coriander can offer. The peas infused in the soup are supplied by Yorkshire firm J E Hartley which farms in the Thorganby area, a village just south of York.
The product won the Best Soup award at The Grocer magazine's Branded Excellence Awards last year.
