Award-winning sausage-makers will be facing off later this year to see which of them is good enough to take home the title of Champion of Champions.

This year's competition will be taking place at Butcher's Hall on 26 October and will see the best sausages in the country being judged to decide this year's supreme winner.

Last year's competition saw Steve Vaughan from Penyffordd, near Chester, take home the title after beating off strong competition from across the UK.

Ed Bedington, editor of MTJ, said: "Our Champion of Champions competition continues to go from strength to strength and we expect the standard of entries to this year's event to be very high.

"Winning the title means a great deal to a butcher and previous winners have seen their sausage sales surge following their victory. I'd like to wish all our sausage makers the best of luck."

The event is being supported by BPEX, Lucas Ingredients and Colfan HL from Naturin/Viscofan.
