A top national tabloid is offering a small business the chance to win a £20,000 cash prize, three years free banking and a chat with Theo Paphitis.

Newspaper The Sun has teamed up with Barclays Bank, Google and the Dragon’s Den judge in a new competition called ‘Backing British Business’.

First prize also includes £5,000 worth of Google AdWords plus expert guidance on your digital strategy from Google, three years ad placement in Yellow Pages and a mentoring session with the Ryman chairman.

Paphitis said: “Small businesses are the ones that keep Great Britain plc going. They are our lifeblood — and they are facing a massive challenge in this recession. That’s why The Sun’s campaign comes at the perfect time.”
Companies can get customers and suppliers to nominate them at www.thesun.co.uk/bbb with an entry deadline of 6 June 2009.

There are also eight runner-up prizes with one for each region which includes a £5,000 cash prize and one year’s free banking.

Federation of Small Businesses chairman John Wright said: “It’s really encouraging The Sun has launched this campaign. It will be a real fillip to small firms and is a boost as they scrap to come out of this recession.”
