Bridge to take part in MTJ procurement conference

Thinking about entering the public sector procurement sector and concerned about the demise of the MLC? Then don't miss the opportunity to quiz John Bridge, head of the new Agricultural and Horticultural Development Board (AHDB), who will be making an appearance at Meat Trade Journal's special conference.

The one-day Bid For Success conference, which will be held at Ardencote Manor Hotel in Warwick, on 5 March, will include several case studies presenting convincing business arguments from both the procurer and the seller for developing local sustainable supply chains.

The government has been pumping money into this initiative, as it is keen to see more meat being procured locally by public sector bodies. The conference, for which the delegate rate is just £50, is being sponsored by Defra, EBLEX and BPEX and will provide butchers with a platform for developing this business and an ideal opportunity to pose any questions you may have about the public sector procurement process.

Bridge will be sitting in on the conference's question-and-answer session and should be able to answer any queries on the levy board, which will be taking over on 1 April from the MLC.
