Model farmers tempted with beer

 - Published:  15 April, 2009

Young male farmers are being tempted to strut their stuff on the catwalk with the possibility of winning some beer. The Yorkshire Agricultural Society’s “Find a Model Young Farmer” competition is drawing to a close, with entries needed no later than the 30 April.

The winners will be given the chance to take to the catwalk at the Great Yorkshire Show on 14 July, with the winner taking home £300 and a case of Black Sheep Beer.
Deborah Goodall the Society’s marketing manager, said: “We are introducing a new element to our popular fashion shows by involving young farmers as models on the catwalk. The reason behind this is to increase the farming involvement, and it enables us to present menswear which we haven’t focussed on in previous years.”
The shows take place in the Skipton Building Society Fashion Pavilion and the Society is looking for eight models to take part on the first day of the Great Yorkshire Show. Each of the models will be professionally trained and an overall winner will be announced.
Further details and an application form can be found on the show website – www.greatyorkshireshow.co.uk or call Deborah Goodall on 01423 546281 or email deborahg@yas.co.uk
