Mediterranean Direct Pork Liver Pâté

 - Published:  03 April, 2009

Tuscany has been a retreat for many well-off Brits over the years, with architectural highlights including Florence, Pisa, Lucca and Siena.

But it has also been the home to the Cinta Senese breed of pig since at least the 14th century – said to be the only Tuscan native swine breed to survive extinction.

This Pork Liver Pâté from Mediterranean Direct comes from the region and uses meat from the ancient breed, which is blended with extra virgin olive oil, capers, anchovies, red wine and various Tuscan herbs and spices.

The pâté is prepared from an ancient Tuscan recipe and is said to be full of flavour, making it a magnificent starter for dinner parties on crackers, bread or toast.
