Oliveri Olives
|
Tucked up in the north-west coastal area of Italy is the region of Liguria, which is home to the city of Genoa. Centuries ago, near the town of Taggia, Benedictine monks were developing the Taggiasche Olives, which are still grown today in the Liguria area.
Available from just so Italian, based in Stockton-on-Tees, this 300g jar of tasty olives is said to use the combination of the land, the water and the climate to give the small dark green olives their unique flavour.
Imported from Italian food company Oliveri, originally set up in the 1920s, the majority of the ingredients used are grown in its own fields, allowing the firm to keep complete ontrol over its antipasti products and the company said that the olives are said to add panache to any side salad, or baked with sea bass and fennel.
