Richard Lowe is chief executive of EBLEX, and has been involved with the meat industry for many years, helping to steer the formerMLC as it evolved into the new Agriculture & Horticulture Development Board.

Andrew Maunder is commercial director with chicken specialist Lloyd Maunder, now part of the 2 Sisters Group. Maunder has been a leading campaigner in addressing consumer concerns on animal welfare and has played a key role on behalf of the poultry industry in getting strong, positive messages out for the sector.

Jim Viggars is senior meat buyer with Asda. Starting out as a trainee butcher with the chain 25 years ago, Viggars remains a vigorous and passionate supporter of the meat industry. He has been instrumental in a wide range of initiatives, including helping to set up Asda’s Beef Link scheme.

Bernard Hoggarth has been involved in the meat industry for more than 30 years and now heads up Cranswick’s food division. Hoggarth was the marketing mind behind the introduction of pig football and will be bringing his imagination to bear as this year’s festival chairman for the Butchers’ and Drovers’ Charitable Institution.
