The Royal Agricultural Society of England is urging producers to act fast to secure a place at Pig and Poultry LIVE '09.
The Royal Agricultural Society of England is urging producers to act fast and secure a place at Pig and Poultry LIVE '09, which will be held at Stoneleigh Park on 13 May.
With limited availability, places are going fast for the newly developed event, which promises a choice of technical and business workshops, hosted by a number of experienced industry specialists, as well as debate focusing on supply chain challenges.
Hosted by BBC farming correspondent Adam Henson, the debate will feature a panel of high profile representatives from across the food supply chain, who will discuss major issues including sustainability, global market influences and UK consumer needs.
The debate will use live interactive voting technology to ensure that every individual has the chance to register their opinion and be heard and a group of consumers will be on hand to put in their views.
"Producers, processors, retailers and consumers can all gain a greater understanding of others' goals and requirements within the supply chain through getting involved in this event," says Alice Bell, RASE Technical Events Manager.
"It forms the ideal opportunity to widen understanding of how the supply chain works and influence improvements towards the long term profitability of the whole chain."
Other highlights will include a discussion on consumer buying habits centred on research from Institute of Grocery Distribution and the Oxford Farming Conference, guidance on how to position a business for growth from Martin Williams of Shirlaws Business Coaching and an examination of what lies behind successful pigmeat marketing from BPEX head of marketing, Chris Lamb.
