Orkney takes on new sales manager
A leading UK provider in beef and lamb has announced the recruitment of a new sales manager to head up one of its successful brands.
Dave Gomm, based in Oxfordshire, is to become the UK sales manager of Orkney Meat's Orkney Island Gold range, which supplies beef and lamb solely to independent butchers.
Gomm said: "I am really looking forward to getting started, as I know first-hand how well Orkney Meat has established its Gold brand in the south of England and to now be selling their product is an ambition fulfilled."
Orkney Meat, established in 1982, is based in Kirkwall on the Orkney Mainland and its Orkney Island Gold range is matured on the bone for a minimum of 10 days. The appointment is aimed to reach greater demands in the south of England.
Orkney Meat managing director, Edgar Balfour, said: "We feel sure that Dave's knowledge of the meat trade coupled with his strong local knowledge of the south of England will soon make our meat more easily available to our customers."
