London Lord Mayor fêted
Wholesalers played host to the Lord Mayor of London last month, during his annual visit to Smithfield Market.
Following a tour of the market by the Lord Mayor, Alderman David Brewer, and the Lady Mayoress, Tessa Brewer, Duncan Edwards (pictured right) from PW & JK Killby Ltd, presented a selection of meat cuts on behalf of the Smithfield Market Tenants Association (SMTA) before breakfast at Butcher's Hall. SMTA chairman Gregory Lawrence, welcomed the visitors, describing the event as "breakfast with the family".
The event also saw the announcement of the impending retirement of Gerry Vincent, association executive, who is stepping down after 16 years of service to Smithfield Market.
