More support for SuperMeat

Northern Irish meat bosses have signed up to support MTJ's SuperMeat & Fish Awards 2008.

The Livestock & Meat Commission is the latest sponsor to sign onto the prestigious industry awards. They join HCC - Meat Promotion Wales, EBLEX, BPEX, the Danish Bacon & Meat Council, Vion and Bord Bia.

The prestigious awards, which take place at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, London, on 3 July, gives the industry the opportunity to celebrate the best in supermarket retailing of meat and fish products.

Both stores and products will be evaluated in the competition, with one retailer eventually being declared the overall SuperMeat Retailer of the Year. Taking part in this year's competition are Asda, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Waitrose, Somerfield, The Co-operative Group and Marks & Spencer.
