Feast on a farmhouse breakfast

 - Published:  15 January, 2008

The staff at restaurant chain Café Verde have announced they are participating in the ninth annual Farmhouse Breakfast Week

which takes place from 20 - 26 January 2008 and promises to be the nation's largest breakfast celebration ever.

The event is designed to promote the variety and provenance of British breakfast foods.

'A Great Start' is the theme of this year's celebration and Café Verde will be encouraging everyone to wake up to a balanced breakfast as part of a healthy and active lifestyle.

Dieticians and nutritionists agree that breakfast is essential for starting the day and that it can boost concentration and mental performance as well as reduce stress levels. Eating breakfast also kick-starts the metabolism and helps with weight control as it reduces cravings for mid-morning snacks. Breakfast can also be an important source of vitamins, minerals and fibre.

There is a breakfast on offer at Café Verde to suit all appetites from toast and jam to a full English breakfast with locally sourced ingredients including local organic eggs and home made sausages.
