A lifetime in the meat industry

Ken was as agriculture correspondent on the Birmingham Post in the early '60s and later worked as chief press officer for the Fatstock Marketing Corporation, which was the largest farmer-controlled meat company at its peak in the '50s and '60s.

Ken then headed the press office at the Meat and Livestock Commission and towards the end of his working life became a freelance journalist, contributing to magazines such as Meat Trades Journal and The Grocer on a regular basis.

The funeral, which will be a humanist service, is on Thursday 17 January at West Herts Crematorium, Garston, Watford at 2.40pm.

The family have asked that no flowers be sent but donations to the Brain Research Trust are welcome, to be sent via Phillips Funeral Directors, Dartmouth House, 68 Alma Road, St Albans AL1 3BL.
