Politicians, research scientists and British poultry farmers gathered in the House of Commons for the British Poultry Council (BPC) awards.
Politicians, research scientists and British poultry farmers gathered in the House of Commons on 4 December to recognise distinguished service and scholarship at the British Poultry Council (BPC) awards.
The BPC's chairman, Ted Wright, and junior Defra minister Jonathan Shaw MP, both spoke about the challenges the industry had weathered in the last year before presenting the awards. There was much discussion amongst assembled BPC members about both the high feed prices and the future of free range flocks in light of avian influenza (AI).
