Predators eye up Regent

There is speculation that Regent Inns could become a bid target as the British pub concern continues to consolidate.
Two venture capital firms, Electra Partners and Alchemy, are rumoured to have turned their binoculars on Regent, which runs a chain of Australian-style sports pubs, as a possible acquisition target.
Electra Partners recently scooped up Urbium, which owned Tiger Tiger, and Alchemy bought Inventive Leisure. Regent owns 76, mainly leasehold, bars, among them the Walkabout chain.
