Peters Food Service is Business of the Year

The company offers a wide selection of foods including savoury pastry, sausages and over 800 other chilled and frozen food. It specialises in savoury pastry and offers an own brand range of pies, pasties and sausage rolls.

Technical and retail sales director, David Jackson, collected the award.

He said: "While only eight of us were able to attend the ceremony it is the 480 people back at our factory who have got us here," he said.

"We've been a bit shy in the past and not really entered awards or pushed our name as much as we could have. This is a great feeling though and a wonderful end to a very rewarding year."

For Mike Grimwood, Peter's new managing director, who took up the reigns at the company's South Wales head quarters a month ago, said: "I knew I was joining a winning team. I want to congratulate everybody who has played a part in helping us win this award."
