Cull complete on bird flu farms

Defra has confirmed that approximately 28,600 poultry have now been culled on premises in Norfolk and Suffolk

after avian influenza (AI) was confirmed one week ago at Redgrave Park Farm, rented by Gressingham Foods.

Four premises were identified as "dangerous contacts" by Defra following confirmation of the infected premises. One of these premises was subsequently reclassified as a "slaughter on suspicion" premises.

Laboratory tests on samples from these farms are underway and the epidemiological investigation is ongoing.
