The poultry industry's most prestigious award has been presented to the chairman of Moy Park Ltd.

Dr Trefor Campbell CBE, accepted the award at the Egg and Poultry Industry Conference (EPIC) banquet on 5 November.

The British Poultry Council's (BPC) award was started in 1953, when it went by the name of the British Poultry Federation.

Citing Campbell's vision and leadership, Ted Wright, chairman of the BPC, said: "This is the poultry industry's most prestigious award. It recognises Trefor's consistant and substantial commitment to the UK primary poultry processing sector and his investment in its future".

Wright praised Campbell's strong interest and involvement in bodies encouraging young people to make the most of their abilities.

"This is well-deserved recognition for Trefor's massive contribution to the UK poultry industry, both through his own company, and through wider development and training initiatives," he said.
