Export success for Randall Parker
Randall Parker Foods is toasting its success, having picked up a prestigious Food from Britain Export Award at a glittering ceremony in London recently.
The company, which produces fresh lamb cuts from Wales and the West Country, fought off stiff competition from a number of other creative and well-known companies to take home the Large Food Exporter of the Year Award.
Graham Penny from Randall Parker Foods said: "We are absolutely over the moon to have won this award, particularly given the tough time the UK meat industry has faced in the last year.
"Last August's outbreak of Food and Mouth Disease was another blow to the reputation of British livestock abroad, and we have worked incredibly hard to rebuild consumer confidence in our products.
"Thankfully, this has paid off and we have managed to increase our sales by almost 300 per cent in the last 12 months. This resounding success is testament to the hard work of our committed team and I would like to dedicate this award win to them."
John Adams, chief executive officer of Food from Britain, said: "The shortlist for the Large Food Exporter of the Year contained some of the biggest names in the UK food industry, and I am delighted that the award went to a company that has done so much to restore the reputation of British meat.
"Randall Parker Foods' unfailing commitment to the quality and sustainability of its products has helped build its reputation internationally and as a result, the company is now reaping the rewards in markets such as Belgium, France and Italy.
"To achieve such great success against such odds is a real testament to their hard work and their victory as Large Food Exporter of the Year is very well-deserved."
