Frimancha's UK options

 - Published:  13 October, 2006

A leading Spanish processor is considering a move into the UK market.

Frimancha was established 30-years ago and over the years has steadily grown its business and now has sales of more than €30m.

The company has identified a potential period of opportunity in the UK market for its pig products, from October to November, and sales manager Raimundo Barba Garcia said the fact Frimancha's prices would be lower than other competitors could give them an edge.

"We are considering setting up an office in the UK to study the market and see if there are further opportunities for us," he said. "We're planning on opening that up towards the end of 2007 or beginning of 2008."
