Green award for waste reduction
Food ingredients manufacturer Manchester Rusk Company (MRC), has won a prestigious 'green' award for an impressive waste disposal project that saved £10,000.
The company secured The Envirowise Award at the Northwest Food Awards in the "Preserving Our Environment" category, after implementing a range of measures that saw it reduce its waste sent to landfill by 70t a year, equivalent to a massive 85% of its annual waste, and saving £10,000.
MRC is a privately-owned family business developing glazes, coatings, sauces, marinades, dressings and seasonings for the ingredients, processing, butchery, food service and retail sectors.
